I just stumbled across Humanity Protocol’s new hand-scan tech, and it's quite interesting:
Basically, you scan your palm once, and you’ve got a Human ID that works anywhere (online, physical spaces, etc).
They’re using something called zero-knowledge proofs to verify you’re a real human without actually exposing your private data. Sounds good in theory, but not sure what'd happen if this system gets hacked? Or worse, how do we know they’ll never monetize this biometric data down the line?
Having sait that though, the appeal is there, and it's a fresh new concept. With bots and scams running wild, a “human-only” layer for Web3 could do us all good lol.
What do you guys think—revolutionary or dystopian startup gimmick?
