Roam has something many DePIN projects struggle to show: a product people can actually use. Its WiFi network has expanded across a large number of countries, while the eSIM offering gives the ecosystem a practical telecom use case beyond simply rewarding people for running hardware.
The question is whether that network is becoming a business or simply a very large points economy. Millions of registered hotspots look impressive, but the more important metric is how many are genuinely active and how much paying demand the network generates. If eSIM usage and other commercial activity don't grow alongside the network, Roam could end up distributing more rewards than the underlying business can justify.
There is also a real verification problem. Location-based rewards create an incentive to spoof GPS data, duplicate devices or manufacture activity. Roam therefore has to continuously prove that its reported infrastructure represents genuine connectivity rather than farmers optimizing the reward system.
Competition won't make this easier. Helium already has years of experience building decentralized wireless infrastructure, while conventional telecom providers have vastly deeper networks and established customers.

Freezable and mintable contract on Solana is a hard pass for me. Roam talks a big game with DePIN nodes, but the on-chain reality is a ghost town with tiny liquidity. $ROAM (weRoam) is a shipping DePIN infrastructure investment with significant real-world traction (3.2 million users, 6 million+ nodes, actual worldwide WiFi/eSIM connection generating rewards today) and strong usefulness in a field dominated by paper tigers, as well as excellent liquidity/volume. However, the 3.2M users stated is diluted but X handle is active and hype towards the project. There's also medium team transparency, and DePIN volatility maintained which is at medium risk.

ROAM demonstrates genuine utility with measurable adoption and operational infrastructure. I didn’t detect any fraudulent activity. It represents a fundamentally sound project in the DePIN sector suitable for investors with appropriate risk tolerance.

I love their innovation of blending DePIN WiFi roaming with user-owned mapping for physical AI via anonymized mobile data, plus hardware miners like Rainier MAX60. This is showing node/app growth by users.

Yeah the network side is clearly growing. Adoption is real Ok…. But from a market perspective, ROAM won’t get full re-rating until they fix transparency audits, clearer user metrics, and more visibility from the core team. If that happens, this flips from “interesting DePIN” to “serious infrastructure play.” Until then, it’s a strong speculative accumulator, it stays a high-upside, high-risk bet.

We’re getting tangible utility now that they’re aggregating mobile data. 89k users verified 2.9B signals on Peaq, so the rewards and network are definitely alive. But the 3M users claim vs 89k actual active users is sus. Combined with an anon team and no audits, well, you know what that means
