Stride (STRD) Review: OG Score & Community Audit

On paper, the supply metrics look remarkably tight. The protocol triggered its programmatic annual halvening in September 2026, cutting inflation down to a tiny 1.34%. This follows their move to Interchain Security under the Cosmos Hub, where stakers cut reward emissions and routed fifteen percent of fees to Cosmos validators. Between the halvening and active protocol buy and burn actions, new token generation has slowed to a crawl.
However, the open market chart tells a very different story. The token is down over 99% from its $7.77 peak and trades at a tiny sub million dollar valuation with quiet volume. Cutting inflation is beneficial for protecting long term holders from dilution, but mathematical scarcity alone cannot move price without active buyers stepping in. The infrastructure works and the emissions are tiny, but the token continues to struggle for open market attention. so id suggest to place it on watchlist for much tangible moves that clear the fall.

While price is already collapsed there is a value dilution risk is approaching with 24 million STRD allocated to core contributors and 16 million to partners are vesting linearly until 2026, and large unlocks like this could create real selling pressure if recipients cash out after considering current condition of price of token it's highly possible investor will cash out to recover losses.

Stride is one of those protocols where the code isn't the main thing I'd worry about. It has a long audit trail, runs as an Interchain Security consumer, and has real IBC infrastructure behind it. So calling this a weak or poorly secured protocol would be unfair.
The bigger concern is ecosystem dependence. Stride's business only makes sense when there are enough active Cosmos chains and users wanting liquid staking. Recent governance has already moved to deprecate Umee, Stargaze and Evmos integrations after those networks shut down or entered wind-downs. That is a pretty clear reminder that Stride can build solid infrastructure and still lose demand because the underlying ecosystem contracts.
I'd also correct the idea that STRD has no economic connection to the protocol. Kraken's crypto-asset statement says 85% of protocol-fee categories and 85% of newly minted STRD go to STRD since the move to Interchain Security. The token therefore has more than just governance utility.
The remaining issue is liquidity and operational complexity. Cross-chain liquid staking means relying on IBC channels, host chains and interchain accounts, and Stride currently has an open issue involving stalled stINJ unbondings after an Injective ICA channel closed.

Stride feels like one of the few Cosmos projects that survived the 2021–2022 Cosmos hype era without completely disappearing. Its core idea is actually useful: users can stake ATOM or TIA, receive liquid versions like stATOM, and continue farming DeFi yields at the same time. During peak Cosmos hype, STRD reached around $7–8 ATH, but today the token is down over 99% from those highs with only around a $1M market cap remaining. There are still concerns about liquidity and whether Cosmos can regain its previous momentum, compared to many dead low-cap projects, Stride still has real utility, active development and genuine ecosystem integrations. But I don’t know for how long, as many exchanges have already delisted STRD, and even on Osmosis it has very limited liquidity.

From a technical standpoint, the Expertise is top-tier the revenue generation proves the product has a real market fit. However, the human side of this audit feels a bit heavy. The massive drop in TVL shows that the project has lost its "glamour". It’s no longer the shiny new toy; it’s the reliable infrastructure that everyone takes for granted.
