Midnight (NIGHT) Review: OG Score & Community Audit

Built by Input Output Global (the engineering firm behind Cardano), Midnight is a zero-knowledge blockchain designed for compliant "rational privacy" using TypeScript smart contracts. It runs on a brilliant dual-token system: you hold $NIGHT, and your wallet automatically generates a shielded, non-transferable resource called DUST to pay for private transactions. If a company holds enough NIGHT, they can run private smart contracts indefinitely without paying fluctuating gas fees.
So why is the chart struggling to gain traction? Look at the supply distribution. Midnight minted a massive 24 billion token supply and gave a huge chunk of it away for free via the "Glacier Drop" to holders of BTC, ETH, SOL, ADA, XRP, and BNB. While having zero VC presale sharks is great, millions of external wallets received free tokens with a $0.00 cost basis. Every time a thawing tranche unlocks, non-native claimants dump their free bags onto spot buyers. Treat the dual-token ZK architecture as top-tier enterprise tech, but let the market finish digesting the unlocked Glacier Drop supply before sizing into a heavy spot position.

The July Wanchain bridge exploit is Midnight’s clearest security red flag. Around 515M NIGHT were stolen through third-party bridge infrastructure, exposing holders of bridged assets to risks outside Midnight’s own protocol. The Foundation confirmed the native network and total supply were unaffected, but that does not make the bridge risk disappear.
Token distribution deserves scrutiny too. Tokenomics.com lists 35% for the Foundation, 20.7% for Reserve balance and 15.25% for Midnight TGE, while community-focused pools account for roughly 24%. with more unlocks incoming. i would watch out 
Network activity reportedly climbed sharply in early October following permissionless contract deployment, but a transaction spike alone does not prove sustained application demand or meaningful NIGHT value accrual.

For a privacy focused project an hack is extremely big problem and this happened to midnight which is specifically built for stronger security and more private tech, on July 21, 2026 midnight faced an exploit 290 million night token stolen which caused 43% of price crash while it only recovered 19%.
Despite continue update and development token is still bearish and has no huge interest of traders, community also alleged that hoskinaon the founder himself did the scam and drained most of cardano liquidity while he completely denied these allegations.
Midnight has serious team and active development but no strong price recovery is major problem for buyers.

Midnight ($NIGHT) is an extreme risk, hazardous asset to avoid. Despite high level privacy engineering and marketing narratives, onchain telemetry exposes critical smart contract vulnerabilities, including owner balance modification capabilities, active mint vectors, and 93.80% holder concentration. These flags indicate an acute risk profile that overrides any fundamental or technological thesis. Do not interact with or hold this contract.

I agree with DBRiMatt , I mean with almost zero adoption NIGHT is sitting at crazy high valuation. Yep we need such privacy solutions but with turtle speed development (Hoskinson-Cardano IYKYK) I just wouldnt want to speculate about $NIGHT

Quiet, long term privacy project built around selective primacy than work alongside regulation, But its success depends on how well it balance use trust and real adoption rather than hype.

Whilst this project may well be a very good project (It will have to prove itself) it's airdrop has been allocated somewhat randomly, with multiple "thawing" periods for those eligible. Some users were able to claim within a day or 2 from the TGE, while others must wait up to 90 days to be able to receive their airdrop allocation. This means there is a tonne of sell pressure to come. It could well be a good buy in the next "bull run" but for now I would sit back and assess it's price valuation over the start of 2026.
