I have used HTX (formerly Huobi), which is owned by Justin Sun. In my experience, the platform has good liquidity and lists many altcoins. However, the UI/UX is quite poor and the customer support is not very reliable. HTX has also faced regulatory issues in several regions. Recently, the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) took action against the exchange for allegedly promoting crypto services to UK consumers without proper authorization

Huobi had issues yeah (mediocre liquidtiy, slow interface, incompetent support) but was just fine (now called HTX). Since Justin Sun bought it, it’s been suffering to death. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t make use of it. RIP Huobi (HTX) Old good days of HTX are gona. It was considered to be in top 3 with the old team especially marketing and community efforts were awesome. Now they can't reach the end user. Overall the app is fine with enough liquidity in most pairs, fees are reasonable but could be better

Acquired October 2022 by About Capital Management, widely reported as a front for Tron founder Justin Sun (Wikipedia: Justin Sun), who officially holds the title "adviser" but acts as the public face. Rebranded to HTX September 2023. Seychelles registration. 762 markets.

Reserves heavily concentrated in TRX and Sun-backed tokens, flagged as a concentration risk. Sun faces an ongoing SEC lawsuit (March 2023) for fraud and securities violations. His involvement with World Liberty Financial (Trump-associated) raises additional conflict-of-interest questions.

Security Track Record

Multiple breaches in rapid succession. September 2023: $8 million ETH stolen from hot wallet (CoinDesk Report). November 2023: $30 million second hack plus $85 million HECO Chain bridge exploit. Same month, Sun's Poloniex hacked for ~$120 million (Cointelegraph: 4 Hacks in 2 Months). Total: ~$240 million across Sun-linked platforms in two months. Losses covered but frequency raised serious infrastructure questions.

Also experienced a 2023 customer data breach (two years of user data exposed, downplayed by the exchange). HT-to-HTX token conversion in January 2024 was controversial. HECO chain users found tokens stranded.
