Huma Finance is trying to do something actually useful in crypto by bringing real-world payments and credit markets onchain, basically letting businesses get instant stablecoin liquidity. On the positive side, the tokenomics are tied to real activity since the protocol earns fees from payment flows, and a portion of those fees goes into buybacks and burns. The yield and incentives also rely on continuous demand for liquidity, which can shift with market cycles and like most real-world asset-style DeFi models, there is added risk around credit performance and how well borrowers actually repay. On-chain liquidity is good and as a payment network it shows strong product-market fit. The narrative also has real upside potential. However, for today, Huma feels a bit overvalued IMO because the gap between MC and FDV is large enough that token unlocks will matter a lot in going forward.

Huma Finance is building around PayFi (payment financing), which is a genuinely valuable niche: bridging the time gap in real-world money movement using stablecoins and onchain infrastructure.
