NEM (XEM) Review: OG Score & Community Audit

The biggest red flag for this asset is its total loss of liquidity. Throughout 2024, Binance systematically dismantled XEM's market access. They delisted the spot pairs in June, removed it from Binance Japan in September, and finally nuked it from the futures market in December. Binance explicitly stated they removed the token because the developers showed a complete lack of commitment to the project.
If you need further proof that this project is dead, look at the team's actions. Instead of addressing the community during these massive delistings, the NEM developers locked the comment section on their official X account and till date there has been no post regarding anything. They have completely silenced their retail holders. There is a circulating supply of 9 billion tokens with absolutely zero demand. Stay entirely away from this asset.

Xem's fixed supply has never been the weak point, the protocol permanently limits the supply to 8,999,999,999 tokens, removing the risk of future token inflation that has affected many older networks, the protocol documentation explains how the supply is permanently capped. 
That changed over the years was the direction of the ecosystem, once symbol became the network for future development, the migration process required separate accounts, namespaces and mosaics instead of a direct network upgrade, check here.
That decision gradually pulled developers, infrastructure providers and new integrations toward xym while xem remained on the legacy chain, the supply stayed unchanged, but ecosystem growth no longer moved at the same pace, that's why i pay more attention to builder activity than the token cap itself, without sustained developer momentum and expanding liquidity, it's difficult to see large long term investors treating xem as a core position despite its predictable tokenomics.

The problem is that operational survival has not translated into renewed economic relevance. XEM now has only about $4–5M market capitalization, while its historical price has fallen roughly 99.97% from its 2018 peak. The top 50 accounts contain 85.9% of supply, including a wallet labelled as a protocol treasury holding approximately 1.83B XEM.
Exchange support has also deteriorated, with Binance, OKX, WazirX and Dex-Trade delistings recorded over the past several years. Meanwhile, NEM's ecosystem split between legacy NIS1/XEM and newer Symbol/XYM leaves XEM competing for relevance against both its own newer sibling and much larger modern L1s. I will conclude that team are more focused towards the newly brother than this itself.
The missing ingredient is measurable growth and without all that happening any sooner this is a very dormant home.

Technically it's a dead project team has shifted focus to other block chain called XYM so buying this is simply wasting money in ghosted project by team, major exchanges delisted it and no longer support trading except some smaller so buying will only put in more loss as there is not enough liquidity and other buyers to absorb sold tokens.

NEM isa ghost project still being kept alive rather than an actively developing ecosystem. Binance delisted XEM spot and margin pairs in 2024 and later removed its futures market, while Binance Japan also dropped it. That leaves liquidity concentrated on fewer venues and makes another major exchange exit much more damaging.
The bigger issue is developer abandonment.  on x account. they havnt made a single post sept 2024. NEM’s attention shifted heavily toward Symbol (XYM) after its 2021 launch, splitting the ecosystem and leaving NIS1 with little meaningful development or new dApp activity. NEM also has a history of financial problems: the Foundation reportedly ran into serious funding issues in 2019, leading to layoffs and restructuring. With the original chain losing developer attention and major exchanges removing XEM, there is little evidence of a strong path forward for the NIS1 ecosystem.. stay away 

Look for something else and make band$,other than this
