Nervos Network (CKB) Review: OG Score & Community Audit

Nervos has a solid reputation among developers, but the community isn't without concerns. The shift away from Force Bridge and Godwoken toward a Bitcoin-focused roadmap (RGB++) frustrated some long-time users who had to migrate assets and adapt to a new direction. Confidence also took a hit after the 2025 Force Bridge exploit, even though it affected the bridge rather than the Layer 1 itself. Nervos focuses purely on keeping the network ultra secure and storing data because it's a foundation It uses Proof of Work PoW which is the exact same secure mining technology that Bitcoin uses means project major focus is security and CKB is like buying physical land on the blockchain 1 CKB token allows to store 1 byte of data on the network if user want to build an app, it's mandatory to buy and lock up CKB tokens to store the code.
By acting as a Layer 2 helper for Bitcoin CKB is having one of the biggest technology narratives in crypto bringing smart contracts to the world's largest cryptocurrency Bitcoin, but there's a catch to pay miners for keeping the network secure the network has a secondary issuance that continually prints new tokens this means there is constant inflation which can keep the price down unless a massive number of new community joins but price will be same or even collapse due to more tokens being released into the market.
Because it is a proof of work coin, it undergoes block reward halvings while this slows down new supply being released it also cuts miner profits in half which can causes miners to quit and lower network security, while project is safe from hacks but In June 2025, the Nervos Network's official cross chain bridge called Force Bridge was hit by a major exploit hackers found an access control failure in the bridge's system and stole $3.9 million in Ethereum and BNB following the hack the team temporarily shut down the bridge services due to high maintenance costs and security struggles, the team ultimately decided to shutdown the bridge.
So Nervos is a solid, security focused project it borrows Bitcoin's proven mining system and gives CKB real utility But it's not risk-free project and token, Inflation from ongoing token printing, shrinking miner rewards after halvings, and the 2025 Force Bridge hack which led to the bridge being shut down for good show that even secure projects can be risky to interact.

You could argue it has a unique architecture, but its ecosystem has struggled to gain meaningful traction over time. The Force Bridge exploit exposed vulnerabilities in its extended infrastructure, and regulatory caution signals like DAXA have added pressure to market perception. While development continues, the project is no longer competing from a position of growth but from recovery, and it faces increasing difficulty staying relevant in a market that has shifted toward newer trends and faster moving ecosystems that probably makes them less NERVOUS.

I see a ghost ship. The foundations are brilliant, but that June hack left a permanent stain. DAXA flagging it for caution is the kiss of death. Cutting off their own L2 arm to save the body shows they're alive, but barely. We’ve seen enough innovative chains die from bridge failures to know better.
