Platform Background & Leadership
Binance US (BAM Trading Services) launched in September 2019 as a US-compliant entity separate from Binance Global. Following the SEC's June 2023 lawsuit, the platform suspended USD deposits and paused fiat channels. Multiple CEO departures followed. Currently lists 176 markets, down significantly from peak.
Security Track Record
No direct hack. However, the SEC's 2023 lawsuit alleged fund commingling between Binance and Binance US and that BAM Trading misled users about market surveillance. These allegations created significant uncertainty about operational independence from Binance Global.
Auditors in our community give Binance US a score of 35.53 across 4 reviews, reflecting a platform in regulatory limbo. Not unsafe in terms of hacks, but operationally constrained and uncertain in terms of future viability for US users.
Binance US Fees & Fee Structure
Spot fees start at 0.40% maker and 0.60% taker, significantly higher than Binance Global. BNB discounts are not available. Competitors like Kraken offer better rates for US users.
Staking & Earn Products
Most earn products have been removed or paused since the SEC action. Staking was suspended. The platform now operates primarily as a stripped-down spot exchange.
Trading Experience & Platform Features
Simplified version of the Binance Global interface. No futures, margin, or leverage. Liquidity has collapsed with 24-hour volumes often below $10 million. Our community considers Kraken and Coinbase stronger alternatives for US-based traders.
