Coins.ph is Philippines biggest Licensed exchange, it is directly linked to GCash, Maya, ShopeePay and major Philippines banks, it enables easy cash deposit and withdraw also with a digital wallet using that wallet user can pay different bills. It has hidden fees trap difference between buy and sell can reach 2 to 4 percent, which is very bad because there is already loss in trade when trade is made, despite huge exchange it has limited tokens listed means many huge and potential crypto coins aren't available to be traded. User report of Hidden fee: https://www.reddit.com/r/phinvest/comments/1dk30ps/long_term_strategy_hodl_in_coinsph_fees_worth_it/?solution=2be00ae18c2ee35a2be00ae18c2ee35a&js_challenge=1&token=bbbe4bf1c9a2b5160829c4be34da586187a5d1417d00aaed5f26422b37234017&hl=en-GB Customer support is also very poor if user is stuck in transaction or kyc verification usually it can take much time to respond , it has restrictions on USDT pairs as it completely tied to Philippines native Currency peso, overall it's not a exchange for professional trading only spot trading and and digital wallet is better development which this exchange achieved.

Coins.ph is a legacy player in the Philippines, but at this point you have to separate history from current risk, while it's the most convenient bridge for GCash exits, the platform has become a liquidity bottleneck for serious users. The onboarding is frictionless, but the off ramping is where the red flags pop up endless 'compliance' loops and account freezes are too frequent to be ignored, between the $12.2M XRP exploit and the recurring 'technical downtime' during peak market volatility, the trust deficit is real in 2026, It's a solid utility app for paying bills but as a trading vault? It's too restrictive, You're essentially paying for regulatory safety with the price of your own exit liquidity, don't keep more there than you're willing to have locked during a market spike. Despite competitive fees on Coins Pro, the 12.2 million XRP insider hack and the March 2026 phishing incident highlight critical security flaws. Furthermore, the practice of 'trapping' withdrawals with high-risk flags is a major red flag. Coins.ph works well as a local utility app, but its technical vulnerabilities make it a risky 'vault' for significant assets. https://www.reddit.com/r/phinvest/comments/1h3rmuj/coinsph_withdrawalcashout/#:~:text=Comments%20Section,hold%20and%20don't%20want%3A (user complain on reddit) https://www.theblock.co/post/258701/philippines-based-exchange-coins-ph-appears-to-have-lost-12-2-million-xrp-in-possible-exploit ($12.2M hack) https://www.coins.ph/en-ph/blog/notice-of-issue-resolution-unauthorized-notifications (The Phishing Surge)

first of all i would like to start with mentioning low trustpilot score 1.2/5 (133 reviews) which is a red flag: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/coins.ph most complaints are about: slow crediting, funds lost within the exchange (WTF) and poor customer support, etc I guess the advantage is seamless local fiat integration for Philippine users. Fees are around average 0.1-0.15% volume is LOW! Advanced traders might pair it with global platforms for lower fees on pure crypto trades. Remember never put all eggs into one basket! use different CEX, don't hold big money on one exchange (USE SELF CUSTODY AS MUCH AS U CAN)

Coins.ph holds strong as the Philippines' go-to regulated crypto gateway. No fresh hacks since the old 2023 XRP exploit (which they patched without user losses reported). The brutal reality is slammed with ongoing complaints about account deactivations, endless KYC/doc demands post-deposit, frozen funds during "reviews," and support taking weeks (or never) to unlock withdrawals.

In the Philippines is the first reliable exchange (said by them not me😆) but it frustrating during deposits and adoption is very low, imagine 30+ coins listed in exchange, my friend what to trade there? And still users experience technical glitches regularly.

Platform Background & Leadership

Coins.ph was founded in 2014 and is the largest cryptocurrency exchange and digital wallet in the Philippines. Licensed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) as a Virtual Currency Exchange and Electronic Money Issuer. In April 2022, Coins.ph was acquired for approximately $200 million by a consortium led by Wei Zhou (former CFO of Binance) and tech buyout firm Joffre Capital. This brought deep global crypto-executive experience to the platform.

Lists 137 markets. Functions as both a crypto exchange and digital payments wallet with bill payments, remittances and mobile top-ups. Reports over 18 million registered users as of early 2026.

Security Track Record

No confirmed major hacks. BSP regulation requires regular audits and compliance specific to the Philippine financial system. The former-Binance-CFO leadership provides credible crypto industry experience.

Based on 6 community reviews, Coins.ph sits at an OG Score of 18.04. A moderate score reflecting the platform's regional focus. The BSP regulatory framework provides stronger user protection than many offshore exchanges.

Coins.ph Fees & Fee Structure

Spot: 0.10% maker, 0.15% taker. PHP deposits and withdrawals supported through local banking and e-wallets including GCash and Maya. Fee structure designed for the Philippine market.

Staking & Earn Products

Crypto savings with interest. Limited range compared to global platforms but serves Philippine user needs.

Trading Experience & Platform Features

Mobile-first design optimized for Philippine users. PHP on-ramp/off-ramp, bill payments and remittances integrated alongside trading. No margin, futures, or leverage. Best suited for Filipino users wanting a regulated all-in-one financial app with crypto capabilities.
