Still have a registered verified account here but their attitude of poor customer communication made me ignored it aside completely. Once made a deposit of ETH that never got credited, chatted their customer care it's either robot spilling totally negative to what my problem was or the Human that also came and giving me zero to non useful replies. Is it the fact that they even go scouting to listing whatever trash they finds regardless of it ability, if they can pay good amount then they're saying Yes. That attitude is a big red for me, they need to consider their customers before accepting listings even more work on customer services better.

I registered on BitMart in 2020 and even back then their listing standards were quite low. They tended to list a lot of low cap and even micro cap shitcoins many of which were questionable. Their listing agents are often among the first to approach projects once they start gaining some traction. The mobile app’s UI/UX isn’t very smooth, though the website is okay..Liquidity is enough..Fees are also reasonable and competitive. Customer support is also one of their weakest areas. There have been instances where user funds were locked without clear explanations and resolving such issues can be difficult. If you’re considering depositing funds there, it’s worth thinking twice especially since recovering access can be challenging if your account gets locked.

Since around 2017 it built a reputation as a place for crypto gems, but unfortunately their listing criteria is so weak they list anyone who pays enough, most die within weeks/months. For traders hunting early listings or meme coins, that strategy attracts attention. As of March 2026 the exchange still reports daily trading volume in 2.5 billion dollar range for spot, Spot trading fees typically start around 0.10 percent maker and taker for standard users, while futures fees remain competitive and can drop further with the $BMX token or higher trading tiers. Security history remains dominated by the December 2021 hot wallet breach where attackers drained roughly 196 million dollars. The exchange paused operations and eventually reimbursed users, though some community members still dispute how smoothly that compensation process worked. Since that incident no comparable security breach has been publicly confirmed. https://www.securityweek.com/bitmart-cryptocurrency-exchange-hacked-for-196-million/ Customer reviews hover around the low range with thousands of reviews, and the pattern in user feedback is consistent. Traders frequently describe accounts being frozen under “risk control” after profitable trades, withdrawals being delayed, or support tickets receiving slow responses. https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.bitmart.com?stars=1 My personal experience wasn't pleasant, 1st they don't allow you to use (new user etc.) coupons as you wish (so just consider they don't exist) 2nd deposits (btc ordinals) are not automatically credited I had to create tickets :( 3rd order books are too shallow on most pairs almost like a tier3- exchange, 4th lastly this is weird I lost some ETH while depositing, they said I need to create specific wallets for ARB, OP, Ethereum native, but why? Shouldn't one EVM wallet be a go for all EVM networks? I have always used the same wallet on other exchanges!

BitMart new Prediction Market for crypto/event bets launched early Jan 2026, and that US entity push with 49-state ops adds some legitimacy credibility. No new hacks since the 2021 mess where they paid users back, bug bounty still running, but the user pain is loud.

If I were you and I was using BitMart: I’d treat it like a short-term trading pit use it for trades, squeezes, dips, quick flips. I wouldn’t leave large amounts there long term, and I’d move profits or long-term holdings to a safer wallet ASAP. The 2021 hack could literally back me up on this.

After 2021 hack, Bitmart covered losses from their own pocket, hope they have learnt some and improved the security. Overall app is pretty but can be improved for easy trading, fees are competitive, liquidity is fair, but be careful with low m.cap coins... BUT their listing criteria sucks, they are following Mexc in this regard but not on development side. (ps Mexc is much better on UI UX, excellent mobile app, fast highly customizable charts, etc.) Why on the earth do you list BABYWLFI ?

Year Established 2017
Country Cayman Islands
Founder Sheldon Xia
CEO Nenter (Nathan) Chow

Platform Background & Leadership

BitMart was founded in 2017 by Sheldon Xia, registered in the Cayman Islands with New York offices. Lists 1,370 markets, one of the broadest altcoin selections. Known for listing smaller-cap and meme tokens aggressively. This means many listed projects have unproven track records.

Security Track Record

In December 2021, BitMart was hacked for approximately $196 million after attackers obtained private keys to two hot wallets (Ethereum and BSC) (Yellow.com: Exchange Hacks). CEO Xia committed to reimbursing all users. The process has been slow and incomplete. Some users report still waiting for full compensation as of 2026.

Based on 6 community reviews, BitMart sits at an OG Score of 26.08. The $196 million hack and ongoing reimbursement complaints drive the moderate-low score. One reviewer described the exchange as listing "anyone who pays enough," reflecting concerns about listing quality standards.

BitMart Fees & Fee Structure

Spot: 0.10% maker, 0.10% taker. Futures: 0.10% maker, 0.10% taker. BMX token provides discounts. Competitive on paper, but low fees should be weighed against the security history.

Staking & Earn Products

Savings, staking, launchpad. Given the breadth of listed tokens, some yield products may involve higher-risk assets.

Trading Experience & Platform Features

Main draw is early access to wide-ranging altcoins and meme coins. Liquidity reasonable on major pairs but very thin on smaller tokens. Customer support has received poor reviews. Our community approaches BitMart with caution.

Data for our BitMart overview comes from their BitMart Official Website, BitMart X (Twitter) Account. The OGAudit team provides this strictly for informational purposes, not financial guidance. See a detail that needs updating? Ping us via the contact form and we will correct it.
