It's down more than 95% from its peak, while roughly 84% of the total supply is still locked, leaving investors watching future unlocks closely. Community sentiment on X has been mixed since launch. Much of the criticism has focused on the airdrop eligibility process, with users questioning its fairness and transparency after many active participants were deemed ineligible While the team acknowledged issues with some accounts, the controversy hurt confidence among early supporters, well not a good one for me 

Before launch it secured $270 million in combined capital, backed by major names including Improbable, a16z, SoftBank, and Mirana these are well known  funding the tech is solid with claim of 1 million transaction per second but it completely depends if there that much of transactions are happening.
A large portion of SOMI is locked under vesting schedule and when those tokens unlock early investors may sell creating ongoing selling pressure regardless of how strong how the technology is performing, the price is already over 90% down while a small portion is in circulation only 160 million token in circulation while remaining about 840 million locked even half of supply is released price can face a extreme market price dump, so it has a decent tech but the token itself is very risky.

Somnia is making one of the biggest bets in crypto, it isn't trying to be another general purpose blockchain, the goal is to support applications that need extremely high transaction throughput, especially games, virtual worlds and large scale digital experiences, that sounds impressive, but history shows that building a fast network is usually the easier part.

The strongest signal won't be benchmark tests or conference demos, it will be applications that keep attracting real users months after launch, with steady onchain activity that does not disappear when rewards slow down, high performance creates capacity, but consistent usage is what gives a network lasting value, that's the gap Somnia still has to close and it's the part that matters most.

The tech claims are astronomical, TPS numbers that sound like fever dreams. If you can ignore the blatant narrative pivot and the sketchy phishing history, there’s a real powerhouse under the hood. Big risk, big ego.

SOMI is a highly toxic asset to hold long-term right now but your funds are safe from malicious code. However, because 80% of the supply is waiting to hit the open market, holding this token exposes your finite capital to severe, continuous inflationary dilution. Treat SOMI strictly as a highly liquid vehicle for short-term technical bounce trades, but do not blindly marry the bag while the venture capitalists are still unloading theirs.

According to the on-chain data, Somnia’s fundamentals are still pretty weak right now. TVL is low, fees are minimal and there’s not much real economic activity happening, which suggests it’s still in a very early or pre-adoption stage rather than a network with real demand. The MC/TVL ratio is also quite high, meaning the current valuation isn’t really backed by usage, so there could be some downside if growth doesn’t catch up. From a tech and vision standpoint, Somnia actually looks solid. It’s clearly aiming for high-performance, real-time applications, which is a strong direction. The only issue is that this narrative isn’t unique anymore, so everything comes down to execution and whether they can actually attract users and developers. On the tokenomics side, it’s fairly well done. The structure is clean, vesting is long-term and the allocation feels more balanced than a lot of newly launched tokens. Even with the vesting in place, the initial community token distribution comes across as relatively fair compared to others in the same stage.

Nothing matches Somnia's non-stop energy right now. Fresh L1 pushing hard with real-time features that just work smooth. Execution feels top level, no empty talk. Community hangs mostly on X, sure, but the momentum there is real. This one has that breakout feel

Data Streams rollout early 2026 for live feeds, plus game rollouts via Dream Catalyst fund, this project needs more real users and economic activity to prove its presence in this cycle.
