Movement (MOVE) Review: OG Score & Community Audit

Shortly after launch the MOVE token suffered a massive highly suspicious price crash in 2024, an investigation revealed that a market maker partner orchestrated a massive token dump on the public, this forced the project to cut ties with the firm and deploy an emergency $38 Million token buyback initiative to try and save the token's collapsing price chart, In May 2025 movement labs officially removed it's own co-founder Rushi Manche following deep structural changes forcing the parent company to change and restructure its core admin.
Even though movement didn't scam, RugPull or got hacked but Thala Labs a DeFi project deeply integrated into the Move ecosystem suffered a massive $25.5 Million exploit due to a vulnerability in its farming contracts, exposing that decentralized apps built on the framework can still contain human coding logic errors.
 

Movement has one of the strongest technical narratives among recent blockchain launches, leveraging the Move programming language to improve smart contract safety while targeting Ethereum compatibility. However, technical quality alone does not eliminate investment risk. The combination of a large venture backed allocation and a vesting schedule that extends until late 2029 means investors will face recurring supply increases for several years. Additionally, the unauthorized market maker incident demonstrated that operational relationships outside the protocol itself can materially affect market confidence, even when the underlying technology remains sound.
The most important indicators are not short-term price movements but ecosystem adoption and the pace at which locked tokens enter circulation. If Movement successfully converts its technical advantages into meaningful real-world adoption, it has the potential to become a major infrastructure project, but execution and token supply management will remain decisive factors that are yet to be a certain I'd say.

Movement is that exact piece of heavy machinery for Web3. It is arguably the most advanced execution environment currently available, successfully bridging the ultra-fast, highly secure "Move" programming language directly onto the Ethereum network. However, because billions of tokens are still waiting to hit the market, holding this blindly exposes your capital to severe inflationary dilution. Treat MOVE strictly as a highly liquid vehicle for short-term technical bounce trades. The tech is top-tier, but do not marry the bag while the venture capitalists are still unloading theirs.

This project just feels shady no matter how I slice it. The bad vibes hit hard and they don't fade. People in the space are super quiet now, like they're all waiting for bad news. Movement Labs raised significant funding from VCs while promising a new generation of Move-based blockchain. However, the project soon faced criticism after reports claimed a market maker received around 66 million MOVE tokens shortly after launch and sold large portions. The situation escalated further when Movement Labs co-founder Rushi Manche was removed after investigation.. Movement proposes to “reshape blockchain mobility” but offers minimal details on execution or how it uniquely addresses mobility needs. With no clear partnerships or technical innovations, MOVE feels more like postured-branding with little substance or utility

I would avoid Movement right now because firing CEO Rushi Manche for that insider Rentech token dump shows they know they screwed up, but honestly, one scapegoat doesn't fix the massive governance holes that allowed connected insiders to crash the price. No amount of buybacks or upgrades matter without proving they've actually reformed token controls
