Caldera (ERA) Review: OG Score & Community Audit

$ERA tokenomics allocation ledger on their WHITEPAPER reveals a layout heavily skewed toward insiders. Private investors command 32% of the supply, while the internal team retains 14.75%.
This means core insiders control 46% nearly half of the entire 1 Billion maximum token supply. Meanwhile, public retail backers are left with a tiny 7% airdrop allocation. This extreme concentration leaves public holders highly vulnerable to long term market dilution as private institutional tranches progressively unlock.

Lately Caldera feels heavy and off. Teams still pick it for those clean custom builds that skip the usual L2 mess but the whole momentum just vanished fast. Daily team posts keep some life in it so I think it can turn around yet I’m watching from afar for now. 😕

Caldera launched last July as a high FDV token. The initial distribution was split into two parts: 50% unlocked at TGE and the other 50% set to unlock after 90 days. The token pumped up to $2 on day one but the momentum quickly slowed. By the time the airdrop tokens were finally unlocked, the price had dropped below $0.40 They raised $24M from VCs, including Founders Fund, Dragonfly, Sequoia and others and the tokenomics are very VC-friendly. The airdrop worked out okay for those who were eligible but for long-term holders, it’s a tough play unless the ecosystem sees serious growth, revenue probably won’t be enough to support the token’s value.

Caldera makes it easier to launch roll up L2s on Ethereum. However unvested tokens are a risk for those who want to hold $ERA. With so many competition and plug and play chain solutions out there they may have a hard time marketing it.

Their Metalayer delivers strong interoperability unifying rollups across Arbitrum and zkSync, powering over 50 chains with shared liquidity and intent-based bridging. The ERA airdrop heavily favored Kaito yappers and influencers with 1500-8000 tokens while actual testers got 5-40. That allocation undermines trust in rewarding genuine on-chain contributors over hype machines.

ERA promotes itself as an all-in-one blockchain solution but fails to specify any groundbreaking advancements. Its roadmap and goals are vague, and there’s little to no community engagement
